GOING OUT OUT
IN CHAMONIX

The first thing you need to know about going out in Chamonix is that public transport options are seriously limited after 8pm. The night bus system is also a little tricky as you are supposed to book it in advance (in French) and will come past roughly around 10pm.
Any serious local partygoer therefore knows the only realistic way to get around is to have a designated driver, bicycles, or remain within walking distance of your abode. If you wish to budget for a small ransom you can however use a “taxi” service.

From experience the most cost efficient way of getting home after dark (when your two legs won’t cut it) is to organise a larger group of friends all returning together in a shared van “transfer”.
If you’re ever really trully stuck the hotels Pointe Isabelle and Plan B are a great central choice to lay down roots for the night as they both have a stellar breakfast spread.

The Sound of Chamonix

The live music scene is often underrated in Chamonix but due to the international mix of its alpine appeal Chamonix Mont Blanc hosts some world class talent on the regular.

Venues like the Maison Des Artists or L’index are well known for the national and international acts they host.

Smaller venues in Chamonix and even the commune also host regular events led my music.

Our view is if you are of the opinion that there is nothing to do in Chamonix, you are just misinformed…and if you’re reading this you’ve found the right website!

Due to the frequency and popularity of international visitors the local Hotel scene supports a number of acts for wining and dining their guests.

LOCAL BANDS

Chamonix has a soft spot for reggae, roots, dub and soul music, these are the most common genres you will catch live on stage from local acts.

 

REGULAR DJS

Lhamonix has a flourishing scene of local music producers and has regular DJ acts permoning mostly on weekends or during aprés ski sessions in the winter.
